Training sessions are focused and intentional with a clear relation to your goals. Training with a person with a DPT (Doctorate of Physical Therapy) does NOT mean you are receiving medical treatment. However, someone with a DPT background is more informed and adds an extra level of expertise by keeping things like injury mitigation and evidence-informed exercise progression in mind.

Let’s have a conversation about why training is a good option for you, your goals, how we can help you achieve those goals, and recommended next steps.
45 to 60 MINUTES
A focused session where we will discuss your goals, previous and current routines, expectations, and timelines. From there you have the option to undergo a movement assessment which will vary based on goals, current activities, and experience. From there we will introduce some exercises, create a clear plan for moving forward, and leave time for questions. If you are considering small group training, each member of the group must go through an individual assessment.

Training SHOULD…
be focused on the your goals, experience, and capacity.
provide an INTENSE and SPECIFIC stimulus to create the change you want and need.
include evidence-informed activities to ensure you achieve the best outcomes.
-
Personal training does NOT…
Intentionally treat or cure any medical diagnosis or condition.
Intentionally treat pain.
Give any medical advice related to injuries, conditions, or illness.
However, our informed approach CAN discuss potential benefits of moving and exercise on various conditions.
-
This will depend on factors including…
Previous exercise experience
Specific fitness goals
Lifestyle choices
Consistency
Current movement capacity
For someone just beginning, a timeline for training 2-4x/week may look like…
2-4 weeks: Improved technique, movement control, body awareness, feeling better in body
6-8 weeks: Initial visible body structure changes like muscle size or weight change
12-16 weeks: Noticeable strength, muscle, and body composition changes
3-12 months: Skill advancement, smooth movement, performance improvements
For someone looking to change body composition such as muscle mass or weight, a general guideline of 1-2 pounds/week is recommended to maintain muscle mass and strength, and reduce chance of plateau.
